What is petit gascon saintongeois?

Petit Gascon Saintongeois (also known as Small Gascony Hound) is a medium-large sized breed originating from France. It is a pack-hunting breed which was primarily bred for hunting small game, especially hare and rabbit.

The breed has a short, dense coat which comes in white and black, white and orange, and white and lemon colors. Their ears are long and droopy, and their tails are thick and taper to a point.

Petit Gascon Saintongeois is an intelligent breed with excellent hunting skills. They are also loyal and affectionate towards their owners and love to be around people. However, they have a strong prey drive and can be independent and stubborn at times.

The breed is relatively healthy and has a lifespan of around 12-14 years. They require regular exercise and mental stimulation to prevent boredom and destructive behavior. They are not recommended for first-time dog owners as they require an experienced owner who understands their needs and can provide adequate training and socialization.
